This payment must be made by mid September at a date set at the beginning of the year. The commissioner will set this payment date. These fees will go towards PDGA sanctioning and insurance fees, PDGA Tournament Director official fees, players packs for the conference tournament, trophies and awards for top performers, conference tournament venue rental and other miscellaneous expenses such as media promotion.
Section 3: Other Team Responsibilities
Teams are responsible for sending a roster of all eligible players to the league by the first week of conference play.. The league must be notified if there are any changes to this roster during the season. Teams are also responsible for informing the league of their home course and any course rules (such as OB) that apply by the first week of play.
Article 3: Player Eligibility
The SCDGA will use the NCDGC’s eligibility requirements listed below.
“The NCDGC reserves the right to ask for documentation if a player’s eligibility is in question. If an illegal player is used, the team forfeits any match the player is used in and is subject to other discipline.”
Section 1: Student Status
“In order to be eligible to play in the NCDGC and in NCDGC Qualifier events, students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours at the time of the tournament at the institution they wish to compete for. Students enrolled in three credit hours at the time of the tournament can also be eligible if they have taken twelve total credit hours in the last year.
Students who graduate in the Fall of the current school year are eligible to compete in National Championships and Qualifier events the following Spring.”

“Players are limited to competing in the SCDGA and the NCDGC six times each.”
Section 3: Professional/Amateur Status
“The National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships relies on the Professional Disc Golf Association's (PDGA) standards and qualifications of Touring Professionals. Only those who meet standards and qualify as a Touring Professional or were designated as a Touring Professional within the past five years are NOT be eligible to participate.”
Article 4: Match Rules
Section 1: General
The SCDGA will use the current PDGA rules for all matches and tournaments. The two meter rule will not be used. Out of bounds will be based on the course rules sent to the league at the start of the season.
Section 2: Rosters
For each match and the conference championship tournament, each team must bring a minimum of four eligible players and are allowed to bring a maximum of eight. All players used in a match must be on the official roster that is given to the league.
Section 3: Match Format
SCDGA matches will use singles match play and team doubles format. Singles match play will be first, followed by team doubles. For singles match play, the team captain will rank four players from one to four. Each player plays against their rank from the other team, one vs. one. Match ups one and four will play on a card, and match ups two and three will play on a card.
REMINDER: Even though there are two groups on a card, each match is between two individual players.
Singles Match Play:
For each match, at least one point is available every hole. The player who scores the lowest score on a hole receives the point. If both players shoot the same score, no point is awarded. The player with the most points after nine holes wins the match. If tied, the match will go into a sudden death playoff.
For each match won, the team scores one point. If a team wins all four individual matches, they are the winner. If not, the team match continues to doubles to decide the champion. NOTE: BOTH SINGLES AND DOUBLES ARE NOW BOTH REQUIRED TO BE PLAYED IN ALL MATCHES. Even if singles is won 4-0 by one team, doubles will still be played.
Team Doubles Play:
Doubles is played with two sets of teammates, one ODD, one EVEN. The ODD set will tee off on every odd-numbered hole, while the EVEN set tees off on every even-numbered holes. After the tee shots, the team chooses which of the two lies to play. From there, the set that did not tee throws their two shots. Again, the whole team decides which lie to play from and the set that teed off would throw. That alternating process continues until the hole is complete. On the next hole, the corresponding set of teammates according to the hole number, ODD or EVEN, would tee off no matter which set putted out on the previous hole. If tied after 18 holes, the same format will be used until a winner of team doubles is declared.
The winner of the team doubles play receives two points towards their teams score.
Tie Breaker:
If the overall score is tied after both singles and doubles, the tie breaker rules are used. The team captain will choose any two players to play doubles best shot. Three holes will be played with the lowest team score winning the match. If the score is still tied after three holes, the same format is used, but it is a sudden-death playoff.
Substitutions:
Different players can be used for singles, doubles and tiebreakers. There are no substitutions allowed in the middle of singles, doubles or tiebreakers, only in between rounds (in the case of severe injury, an exception can be made). This allows teams to play with a minimum of four, but can also use a maximum of eight or any number in between.
Section 4: Three Player Rule
Any regular season conference match may be played with 3 players instead of 4. In singles play, the team with 3 players automatically forfeits one of the potential match play points. In doubles, the team with three players selects one of the three to play by themselves as half of the doubles team. This means that on every other hole, the team with 3 players will only have 1 drive or 1 approach/putt instead of the standard two. Teams who bring 4 players to a match may not elect to play doubles with only 3 players.
Section 5: Match Scorekeeping and Reporting
All matches must be scored with scorecards provided through the league. By one hour after the match is over, the home team must send pictures of the scorecard to the league.
Section 6: Substances
Alcohol and any illegal substance will NOT be allowed to be consumed by players at event venues (courses). If it does occur, the player will no longer be allowed to compete in the SCDGA and the team will forfeit that match.
Article 5: Conference Tournament
Section 1: General
The top several teams (depending on the size of the conference), based on record (tie breaker is head to head for two teams, number of singles sweeps for three teams, if two are tied after that, back to head to head, or else coin flip.), will compete in the conference tournament. The conference tournament will be held at a location determined by the commissioner.
Section 2: Format (may be changed)
The same match rules, used in the regular season, will be used for the conference tournament. The tournament will be single elimination.
Article 6: Berth to the NCDGC and Post Season Awards.
Section 1: Berth to NCDGC

Section 2: Postseason Awards

Players will abide by all PDGA rules and regulations, maintain kindness and respect while on the course, and seek to be models of sportsmanship. Players who participate are expected to be ambassadors for the conference and for the sport. If any players conduct themselves in such a way as to go against these reasonable expectations, other players have a responsibility to notify the conference commissioner via private message who will in turn discuss it with the team captains and render a hopeful solution to the problem. Any player who consistently behaves in ways that are unprofessional, jeopardize the legitimacy of the SCDGA or its sponsors, or fail to follow PDGA rules even after reminding, will be asked to leave the conference.
